Spring of the Cultural Industry
Following the guidelines of the central government, based on its own conditions and “The Belt and Road” initiative, Shanghai's cultural industry is accelerating the pace at which it's “going global”. Meanwhile, various departments of the Shanghai Municipal Government are defining ordinances to support the development of the cultural industry, ensuring Shanghai’s trade in cultural services advances even further.
In the future, Chinese development strategies like “The Belt and Road”, the Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone, and the Pilot Free Trade Zone are to be merged into the development of Shanghai's cultural industry. Reform of the supply aspect within the field of culture is to continue, and a group of pillar companies is to be created, with the aim of further driving the growth of Shanghai's cultural industry. Sino-foreign co-operation is also to be enhanced in order to augment the influence of Chinese culture and facilitate cultural development in countries along the “Belt & Road.”
Tell China's stories well to the international community
Though hundreds and thousands of years have passed in the twinkling of an eye, the nature of Chinese culture and the role of the Silk Road as a spiritual bond connecting oriental and western civilizations have never changed. With its profound roots, diversified forms, extensive coverage, and modernity, contemporary Chinese culture is fulfilling people's spiritual demands for a cultural life. As the cultural components of “The Belt & Road” initiative are gradually upgraded and implemented, Chinese culture will surely come to reflect this new glory.
Shanghai is one of China's economic centers and a unique and open port with obvious cultural characteristics. In the future, Shanghai will take full use of its regional advantages as an international metropolis to create unique and original brands, tell China's stories well, and truly propel Chinese culture out into the rest of the world.
