Huawei is the second largest Chinese enterprise investing in Hungary after Wanhua Group. The representative office of Huawei in Hungary was established in 2005, and Huawei’s European Supply Center was established in 2009. In May 2012, Huawei invested $1.5 billion in greenfield, its largest investment project to date in Hungary. Huawei has now set up the world's second largest logistics center in Hungary, serving the entire Europe. Meanwhile, Huawei Hungary assembles and transports telecommunications products for suppliers in Central Asia, North Africa, the Middle East and West Africa. In 2015, Huawei generated a revenue of HUF 67.5 billion in Hungary and employs more than 2,000 people. In July 2016, Huawei signed with Wanhua-BorsodChem a strategic cooperation agreement, which requires that Huawei provides Wanhua with the most advanced products to promote the development of intelligent production and to achieve its business development goals. With the technical support of Huawei, Wanhua-BorsodChem will establish a regional information and communication center in Hungary to improve the efficiency of its product supply and its global competitiveness, and to achieve its long-term sustainable development goals.
