Established in May 1988, Shanghai Computer Industry Association (SCIA) is a non-profit social organization, whose purpose is to “serve enterprises, regulate and develop the industry, provide services to its members, safeguard the rights and interests of its members”, and carry out work in accordance with the principle of “justice, fairness and openness” to ensure fair competition in the industry and build connections between the government and the enterprises. Over the years, SCIA has been rated as Shanghai’s Advanced Industry Association and was deemed a 4A Association by Shanghai Administration Bureau of NGOs.
Taking full advantages of the industry platform and talking into consideration of the new features of the computer industry, SCIA has, in recent years, developed a series of brand services in the areas of professional title review and evaluation, legal appraisal, and protection of rights, with a view to promoting sustainable development of the computer industry in Shanghai. The brand services SCIA offers include:
(1) review and evaluation of professional titles and provision of training programs;
(2) legal appraisal services;
(3) overseas IP rights protection services;
(4) establishment of a circular economy, by building maintenance and electronic waste recycling outlets;
(5) quality appraisal and testing services to ensure improved quality;
(6) upgraded information consulting and new technology review services;
(7) establishment of employment and internship center to create a talent pool;
(8) establishment of a credit information management brand in the era of big data;
(9) provision of research-based decision-making referencse;
