Established on March 26, 2002, Shanghai Communication Industry Association (SCIA) is a non-profit legal entity formed by private and state-owned enterprises and institutions in the communications industry.
Upholding the slogan of "service, self-discipline, representation, coordination", SCIA is working to ensure a fast, healthy and coordinated development of the communications industry, by providing professional services to association members, spearheading self-regulation of the industry, serving for the overall interests of the industry, and coordinating the relations inside and between different association members. SCIA has undertaken the following missions: Establishing a self-regulated credit system, carrying out data collection and case study programs, holding seminars for technology and information exchange, protecting the members’ intellectual property rights from infringement, and promoting inter-disciplinary cooperation, gradually creating a harmonious development in the communications industry from production, operation to application.
