Israel has long been pursuing a “free trade” import policy, allowing for the import of any products that are necessary for domestic industrial and agricultural production, national defense, and the people’s livelihood, with the exception of: (1) products of countries that deny imports from Israel; (2) products of countries that import from Israel; (3) products that are against the religious dietary laws or below the health standards.
The export strategy of “quality above all else” is proposed by the Israeli government after weighing up the benefits and prospects of its foreign trade industry. To meet global market demands, the government instructed competent export departments to establish an export standard in line with international practices. According to the standard, any company that does not obtain the quality license is strictly forbidden to fulfil export orders, and companies that are eligible to receive such orders cannot export products that are below standard. Thanks to this strategy for achieving success through quality, Israeli exports have been universally acclaimed and accepted by the world.
