Service outsourcing is a new growth point of service exports and a new driving force for economic transformation.
The rapid integration of the new generation of information technology with the real economy has speeded up IT-based and digital transformation of the traditional service industry and brought about far-reaching reform in business forms, business models, and transaction modes. This has improved the tradability of traditional services, realized cross-border flow of data as a new type of resource, facilitated remote delivery of services, and generated new service modes, such as online travel, telemedicine, and online education.
Information technology service is the main form of service outsourcing. On the one hand, information technology service promotes development of service outsourcing; on the other hand, by using such technology as big data and artificial intelligence, traditional production-based manufacturing has been transformed into service-oriented manufacturing.
In addition, China’s services trade has other characteristics, for example, “the central and western regions saw rapid growth of imports and exports of services trade; pilot projects played an increasing important role; and new channels for services trade were opened up under the Belt and Road Initiative.
