1. The Dan Region Wastewater Treatment Plant (Shafdan)
As the largest wastewater treatment company under Mekorot, Shafdan treats over 300,000 tons wastewater each day from a population of nearly 2.5 million in the Greater Tel Aviv area. It adopts up-to-date biological technologies of wastewater treatment. An equipment named biomass carrier the company uses provides more growing space to bacteria which in turn can consume more bio-waste. The treated water flows through designated water pipelines to dozens of reservoirs for irrigation in the southern Negev Desert.

Aqwise is one of the start-ups supported by the water technology center of Mekorot. It enjoys an international reputation in the field of biological treatment of sewage. Aqwise uses a type of bio-carrier with a large surface area which provides more growing space to bacteria, so as to more effectively treat sewage. It has agents and partners in over 30 countries and about 200 sewage treatment projects around the world. Its markets cover China, India, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Russia, the US, Central America and South America. It has offices or subsidiaries in Mexico, Italy and the Netherlands.
3.P2W(Pollution To Water)
P2W (Pollution To Water) is a private company. It has projects in Israel and other countries. It specializes in treatment of heavy metal and cyanides in water. Its patents include closed circulation technologies, electrocoagulation and electro-oxidation technologies. With those technologies, it is no longer necessary to use chemicals or to treat sludge that can be produced using other methods. The company was awarded by AlwaysOn as one of the top 100 companies in the world for Going Green.
