Royal Caribbean International (RCI) is the world's largest cruise company dedicated to innovation-driven cruise travel. With the aim of offering highly innovative cruising experiences for travelers, RCI cruise ships are equipped with the latest technology and outstanding facilities unlike any other, and can travel to over 260 dream destinations in 72 countries on six continents. For 10 consecutive years from 2009 to 2018, RCI won the title of “Best Cruise Operator” in the China Travel & Meetings Industry Awards organized by Travel Weekly and the “Best Cruise Operator” in the TTG China Travel Award for 10 consecutive years from 2010 to 2019.

As a fast-growing cruise company in China, RCI has been devoted to developing and operating world-class cruise ships in the China market and continuously introducing the best, largest and newest ships in China. Since the first home port cruise line was launched in Shanghai in 2009, two new ships with large gross tonnage and advanced facilities, Voyager of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas, have been introduced in China, ushering in the “Grand Ship Era”.

In 2015 and 2016, RCI introduced newly developed technology-intensive ships – MS Quantum of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas – in China, opening a new chapter in the “New Ship Era”. It was the first time in the history of international cruise ships that brand new ships equipped with top-rated facilities had been launched in China, which not only lifted China's cruise industry to a whole new level, but also greatly fueled public enthusiasm for cruise ships and global cruise operators' confidence in China. Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal thus became the world's fourth largest terminal.

In 2017, RCI designed and constructed Spectrum of the Seas, RCL's first Quantum Ultra-Class ship, which will start its service in China in 2019. Spectrum of the Seas serves as an embodiment of the experience and knowledge that RCL has accumulated through constant product optimization in the Asian market. Its arrival challenges international standards for the design and construction of new cruise ships and is proving to be a milestone in the development of China's cruise market.
