In 1989, DHL Global Forwarding came to China and located its headquarters in Shanghai. In the meantime, DHL Global Forwarding connects China and other Asian and European countries with its flagship service – rail transport, thus vigorously promoting interconnection and trade exchanges among Eurasian countries. Moreover, its service network also reaches to the United States, Australia and North African countries, bringing more opportunities for Chinese enterprises and products to go global.
Today, DHL Global Forwarding is able to transport cargoes to their European transfer stations through multimodal transport services and then to their destinations via its Eurasian land transport network, including bulk cargoes like automobiles, fast moving consumer goods that require quick delivery, fresh foods and liquors that need strict transportation and storage conditions, whether in China, Vietnam or Japan.
In addition to rail transport, DHL Global Forwarding also performs well in the air and sea transport businesses. It has pioneered exclusive services for the e-commerce sector in China and also provided a global charter business since 2017. Its Air Transport Department has won the “Best Cross-border Supply Chain Enterprise Award” bestowed by the Shanghai Cross-Border E-Commerce Association.
