Shanghai Zhang Jun Kunqu Art Center
Established on 22 September 2009, the Shanghai Zhang Jun Kunqu Art Centre is currently the only private professional Kunqu Opera troupe in China. With the goals of revitalizing Kunqu Opera and exploring diverse art production and communication methods, the troupe is committed to building a centre for creative and performance arts, educational research, communication and promotion, and cultural exchange. The Centre has presented such performances as an outdoor version of The Peony Pavilion, Shuimoxindiao Kunplug, Zhang Jun's New Kunqu Concert, and the modern Kunqu Opera Moonlit River In Spring. In 2018, Zhang Jun will hold a grand Shuimoxindiao Kunqu concert for the first time. The name literally means "water mill new tunes".
