In recent years, sports events, as a world language, have been playing an increasingly significant role in improving a city’s image. As a promoter and operator of sports events, Jiushi Sports Group has constantly explored new models to promote urban brand building with sports events, and has greatly enhanced Shanghai's international influence and reputation.

Since 2010, Jiushi Sports Group has taken advantage of top international events such as F1 and ATP1000 to develop the “City Background Board” project and held brand activities such as “Master Pujiang Night” and “F1 Opening Ceremony”, attracting 1044 media outlets from around the world to publish a total of 22,280 reports.

During the Shanghai Masters in 2015 and 2016, we included Shanghai urban elements, such as the urban landscape, first-hand experiences of the world famous tennis professionals and traditional culture of Shanghai, into the “Master Pujiang Night” activities, making it the spotlight of more than 30 Chinese and foreign mainstream media.

During the 2017 F1 race, Shanghai’s promotional image video was played on the screen in a loop. Tens of thousands of spectators singing the Chinese national anthem and waving flags with the Shanghai logo were broadcast on the official F1 website, and disseminated by more than 70 TV stations in over 50 countries and more than 160 print media in 26 countries all over the world.

In May 2017, through the successful operation of Jiushi Sports Group, the Australian Football League played in Shanghai, which was the first regular season game held in cities outside Australia and New Zealand. On game day, more than 6,000 overseas visitors came to Shanghai to watch the match, the highest proportion ever of overseas spectators at a single sports event held in Shanghai, a real stage for city promotion.

The holding of a series of important events has boosted Shanghai's international image, all of which is inseparable from the unremitting efforts of Jiushi Sports Group.
