In May 2017, SMG Pictures gained official authorization for the exclusive broadcasting and co-production of the well-known science fiction series Doctor Who made by the BBC in China, showing that SMG Pictures' cooperation with BBC has moved from the trial stage to the milestone of joint production of core IP. SMG Pictures has signed a three-year strategic contract with Japan's Fuji TV. Operation Love and What Are Dating and Love? have become outstanding works in Japan; meanwhile, A Beautiful Daughter-in-Law Era, The Story of Lala’s Promotion, Don’t Lie to Love and What Are Dating and Love? and other series have been sold to Asia, Europe, America, Australasia and Africa, targeted at audiences worldwide. A Beautiful Daughter-in-Law Era has achieved sensational results in Africa. Operation Love has been shown on a popular channel in the competitive South Korean TV market. Ordinary World was broadcast on Propeller TV, a popular UK TV channel.
