In 2002, Shanghai Shaxuan Fashionable Clothes Technology Co., Ltd. set up its own factory for knitwear production. In 2012, its privately-owned Sand River brand established research and development teams in Europe, Tokyo and Shanghai, under the direct guidance of Junko Koshellono, the leading international designer in Japan. Combining popular international elements, traditional Chinese culture and cashmere clothing, they sell to twelve countries including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the US and Japan, through China's privately-owned high-end cashmere brand.

Sand River uses the vivid symbol of sheep as its basic feature and depicts the beautiful scenery of blue sky, white cloud and green grass, with horses and sheep, in the vastness of the Inner Mongolian steppes; taking inspiration from the desert sands and the Huangpu River, it mixes robust Mongolian culture with fashionable Shanghai culture to present the personality, creativity and style of the brand with beautiful wishes.
