Forerunner of Chinese Animation "Exports"

The Shanghai Joyspoon Cultural Movie Media Incorporated Company Co., Ltd. ("Joyspoon Media") is a young cultural and creative company focusing on developing high-quality original animation products. Founded in 2009, Joyspoon Media soon became a star in Shanghai's cultural and creative industry. It was accredited as a national animation company in 2013; listed on China's New Third Board (NEEQ: 832030); and assessed and recognised by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce as a key cultural exporter from 2016-2017.

The company is committed to taking original works to the international area, and facilitating the communication and integration of Chinese culture with the cultures of the world through international cooperation.

Since 2011, the company has shifted its focus from the domestic market to the international market. Its performance has been good and it has produced many films, including Gorilla with South Korea's BI, The Eternal Christmas Eve with US company Kickstart, and Royal Academy with Italy's Rainbow, Europe's largest animation studio.

In addition, the company has actively participated in animation exhibitions and festivals, including the Lyon Comic Festival, The International Television Festival Golden Prague, MIPCOM, MIP Junior and the North American Film Festival. For example, the animated film Mission Monster won the favour of many international publishers and sales agents during the Berlin International Film Festival and France's MIFA, bringing opportunities for cooperation with overseas animation studios.

Joyspoon Media is also an established player in the animation space of the "Belt and Road" initiative. Its reputation even prompted Stefan Ristic, Vice Consul of the Republic of Serbia to China, to visit the company himself, hoping that the two nations could cooperate to achieve a breakthrough in the animation industry. It has also donated its first original animated TV series A Leisurely Tour of the World (recognized as the "Best Chinese Cartoon" in 2011 and 2012 by the State Administration of Radio and Television) and Gorilla to the Administration's "Belt and Road" initiative. They will be broadcast freely in Lhasa in Tibet for three years, starting in August 2017.
