The Shanghai International Film Forum & Exhibition
The Shanghai International Film Forum & Exhibition, or CinemaS, spearheads the release and screening of movies in China. With the consistent goal of "leading the industry, facilitating development, and seeking win-win scenarios", CinemaS provides cinema operators in China and the Asia-Pacific Region with a platform for information sharing, cooperation and communication.
Since its foundation in 2012, CinemaS has offered a forum for professional exhibitions, newly released films, in-depth discussion, and related events.
The Shanghai International Film Exhibition (IFE), which runs for three days, has display areas for cinema equipment and technology, video-on-demand (VOD) facilities, and licensed film products. With a 50% annual increase in the exhibition area and number of exhibitors, the IFE has become the biggest event with the highest attendance in the film industry. The exhibition is complemented by a range of commercial events, banquets and the release of new technology.
The Shanghai International Film Forum has always been the highlight of CinemaS. It is a high-end intellectual event for investors, technical experts, financial backers, and elite professionals. It also serves as a window into the future for the movie industry, and a platform where film investors can communicate, collaborate and share experience.
While committed to the overall development of Chinese films, CinemaS also focuses on key areas such second-run movies, VOD theaters, reform in the operation of cinema chains, the creation of all-encompassing entertainment experiences, and film screenings in rural areas. It also provides a platform to analyse policies on films and cinemas, lead future trends, promote technology and create new business models. The platform covers cinema equipment and VOD facilities, contributes to a complete film industry chain for the release and marketing of new films, and sells the copyright for high-quality motion pictures.
