China Shanghai International Children's Book Fair

Founded in 2013, the China Shanghai International Children's Book Fair (CCBF) is jointly sponsored by the Shanghai Municipal Press and Publication Bureau, China Education Publishing & Media Group Ltd., and China Universal Press & Publication Development Co., Ltd., and has been successfully held 5 times to date. CCBF is the only exhibition event in the Asia-Pacific region that focuses exclusively on books for children aged 0-16 and other children's content.

Based on its theme of "Moving with the World and the Future', CCBF is committed to providing a book fair that is international, specialised and quality-oriented. It offers a first-rate platform for the exchange of copyright for children's books, and plays an important role in promoting Chinese children's literature and reading at an international level.

Nearly 300 exhibitors and numerous visitors from around the world have attended CCBF, including publishers, illustrators, designers, literary agents, authors, translators, content providers, packaging providers, printing companies, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, educational and training institutions, cultural institutions, book administrators, teachers, and fans of children's books and literature.

The cultural highlights of CCBF include the Golden Pinwheel Young Illustrators Competition and Exhibition, the Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Awards, the International Festival of Authors, and the Shanghai International Visiting Publishers Programme, as well as professional seminars and reading promotion activities.

From 2018, the Shanghai International Children's Book Fair will join hands with the world's largest children's book fair – the Bologna Children's Book Fair in Italy. The cooperation of the two exhibitions establishes an important platform for information, product and copyright exchange for the publishing industry in China, helping to accelerate the deployment of the industry's strategy of "going global".
